Why I'm building BreakerBay

BreakerBay started as a spontaneous idea, not a plan. I don't come from a developer background — I was simply stuck in the jungle of AI models, token prices and outages, and couldn't find one place that answered the basic question: which model is the cheapest one that actually works right now? So I built it. BreakerBay is meant to bring light into that jungle: transparent prices, live status and a plan B when a provider goes down.

Where the data comes from

Model catalog, pricing and host telemetry come from the documented OpenRouter Models and model-endpoints APIs, while provider status comes from official public status and incident feeds scoped to AI API components. Each dataset states its observation date, source and method; regional estimates are separately labeled, and derived SLA history is not a provider-certified SLA.
